OMG Thief 4!

Yeah takes some skill to make better hardware look worse. The fact both consoles get to to the low 20's in framerate also shows it's a really shoddy port.

Yeah its hard to even see how to recommend this game to anyone, its really poor work by Eidos Montreal. Ill stick with my original statement of just avoiding this unless you want to play the PC version...

Good they kept things like the layered custom difficulty but apart from that its an awful game in pretty much every aspect. And theres me thinking LoS2 was gonna be the obvious stinker, its got a decent challenger :p

ps3ud0

well i'm enjoying it on PS4 but then again i'm not counting frames per sec either end tend not to go by reviews rather what i enjoy playing gamewise

Took the plunge and picked a copy up... didn't pay the 50 odd quid asked by Game, got it for 26 off off eBay, new - happy with that.

First impressions... you can turn a hell of a lot off, which is good, and the custom difficulty should hopefully make up for any shortcomings I was worried about in the reviews; set my first pay through to Master difficulty with plenty of options turned off.

Onto the game itself, I think it looks very nice, sounds are pretty good and set an atmosphere, but I miss the old Garrett voice over... this new guy sounds a bit like a teenage Garrett to me. The 'partner' at the start is doing my head in, she's like some sort of cat woman wannabe - counting the steps until she's offed!

Anyway, so far so good, let's see how the rest of the game pans out...

She's gone by the end of the chapter. I actually enjoyed the game. There is always a variety of ways to finish a level and chapter 5 is  I wasn't expecting it to take the turn it did. You also get to see some bookies, which is always a plus :p

Thankfully, she's now gone :D Though that cut scene was massively dull... proper anti climax, not a patch on the old dark gritty art work pieces of old.

Just playing through the lockdown bit now and have found a route behind the jewellers, but have already encountered two issues with either level design, or... something:

The first was when trying to emerge from a vent, Garrett would climb up and moved forward, only to then immediately drop down again! Rinse and repeat this numerous times, before I finally managed to overcome it by turning at the top of the climb and walking out sideways.

Next issue was just around the corner from that, I rope ladder up to a ledge, but you cannot climb the rope!

I'm guessing that we players have now replaced pre-release play testers

Let's hope these sorts of issues aren't rampant throughout...
