OMG ! this is just getting silly

TAT wont run on my PC

but Core Temp Beta 0.94 was showing 66C after an hour of orthos last night which if to be believed is a bit toasty :D

I think we've been used to ZIF temps and assortment of other interpretations for so long, when we see a tool that actually works, it's a bit of a surprise how hot they get.
Mine was over 70 priming @ 3.6 so I can quite easily believe 66C.

Very very nice OC,

Really tempted to replace my X2 3800 when I see overclocks like these! :p My poor AMD is flat out :(

Does running at 2T not make a big performance hit on the duo's?

Nope. All the 965 boards force you to run 2T, only the NVidia boards really allow any flexibility at all. Memory settings on the NVidia chipset boards are massively superieor to the Intel chipset boards.

Then again none 680i board has been any faster than 975x, or p965 with 1066 strap :)

Looking forward to DFI's new P965 board, it seems to have made 500+ fsb on 1066 strap, a miracle really, beating the hell out of Asus P5B Deluxe.

Any news of OcUK stocking these? Can the site owner contact DFI for more details?

Lol nice bit of unbiased info there! :D

6300 @ 3.4Ghz
Asus P5N-E-SLi
OCZ 2Gb 6400

idle CPU 42C
idle Mb 31C

Load CPU 46C ish
Load MB 34C ish

i Love my new toys ! ;)

i cant believe ive got that high and stable atm

Very very nice indeed, i'm currently in the market for the same setup as yours, the only thing i'm really having issue with is the ram, I've been advised across the board to go with crucial 10th anni, but it seems your OCZs are doing the job perfectly in that system! Is it this stuff you have(up to 2.1v kit)? http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-072-OC or is it the OCZ2T8002GK Titanium?

Anyone else that'd recommend this or similar ram to achieve similar overclocks? :)

3.4 Ghz on a 6300 was done ages ago

Anyway, max I can get on mine is 3.5 which is like stable for the first few minutes on Orthos, I have to push a lot of volts through the ram/cpu though so I run 3.3 Ghz at about 34/35c IDLE and something like 50 max load on Orthos.

Erm... The guy said will it make a difference if I run 2T vs. 1T and I said no, and I based that on the fact that the Intel boards were running 2T and they are as fast, if not faster than the NVidia boards that allow 2T, so we're singing off the same hymn-sheet there but you cannot deny that the NVidia boards have at least double the number of memory tweaking options that the Intel boards do. Even if no-one knows what they all do ;)

I only hope it's better than the ATI RD600 board they've just released then. :p

Why don't you contribute something positive to the thread?

I've built over 100 PCs in the last 6 months and every single one has had an Intel processor in it. 90% of them had Intel chipsets and of the computers I actually own 90% of them are Intel chipsets.

I'm not in any way shape or form biased to NVidia, but the 680i has more than 30 changeable settings for the memory. The 650i has about the same. I haven't seen an Intel chipset board recently that has more than 10 or 12.

Now, I haven't got a clue what half of them do, but the ability to vary the LDT is very, very useful as is the ability to decide if you want to run 1T or 2T. The former gives a genuine overall system performance boost and the latter does help a little in benchmarking. In the real world MHz>* usually and the 965 chipset boards do very well for that, which is why I will generally go for a DS4 as a basis for a system build. Given blknoels success with the P5B-E I've got one of them for testing at the moment and it's excellent.

So come on - how about a bit less sniping and a bit more positivity?

These 6300's are mental aren't they :D

Currently running prime at 3.5Ghz (500FSB) at 1.4vcore! (don't even think it needs this high though, still testing!)

:)

Well their NF4 series did make a majestic reign of AMD64 overclocking boards. If the circuitry or engineering or BIOS wasn't good or stable, it would have never made the top place.

I'm just too tired of Asus now, after hearing they've just released another series of Vista compatible boards. :o How many conroe mobos have they made already? Probably in the thirties.

DFI P965 under testing has beat Asus P5B Deluxe by a fair margin. Google for coolaler's tests and benches.
