Omnia no longer syncing

I've been really happy with my Omnia thus far (although i do like the look of the Touch HD) but just this week its stopped syncing with my PC when i connect it via usb.

I've tried different USB ports on my PC and same problem for each (so not the pc as other usb devices work fine).

Its not the socket on the phone either as the headphones still work.

When i plug in i get the usb connected sound but about 3/4 on top of each other (hard to explain) created an almost bell ringing sound.

However when i remove the cable i still get the normal XP usb removal sound.

Its important that i resolve this as i use my Omnia for a lot of music, work and general file transfers which i can't do when it doesn't connect to my PC!!

Any advice would be welcome

When it's plugged in check in device manager that the drivers for it are still intact. I've had a similar problem where the phone would not be detected but upon checking device manager there was a problem with the driver.
