ok, so after an overheating issue, (i presume) i went into the control panel, and then into devices and disable my on-board graphics card, which was outputting at 140 degrees C* constant.

so far so good, but my display keeps freezing for a few seconds and then it acts normal, does that usually happen after just disabling on-board gpu's or do you think it might be something worse?

140? - are you sure? - faranheight would seem more accurate (60oC)

I assume you've got a stand-alone graphics adaptor?

Generally when disabling the onboard GPU I do so from the BIOS.

Some system specs would be helpful to solve your problem.

sorry for double post, but found out that it wasnt my on-board graphics card but something is going dramatically wrong inside the pc itself. Just turns off without warning, its not overheating as i disabled the on-board graphics but no luck, hopefully if my uncle is off work, he can take a peek at the system, but till then im on another computer for college work :(

When does the PC turn itself off? When doing a specific task - if so, what - or just randomly?

Have you check the voltages on your PC with a multimeter? Can you - if so, then post your readings here for the 3.3v, 5v and 12v lines.

Seeing that you have a Seagate harddrive, have you ran a FULL/ADVANCED test on the harddrive using SeaTools?

Is the machine Prime95 stable?

woosh! :) sorry not all that confident on components etc but i will look and screeny for you.

Besides that, gave the computer a huge clean out, loads of dust in the fan itself, maybe that might of been the problem, will continue and see what happens.

Cheers
