on board hdmi losing signal

Hi my friend has a asus p7p55m and a i3 540 cpu which uses the onboard hdmi connector to dvi monitor, the problem is when the pc starts up, the monitor works until it gets to the win 7 loading screen and then comes up no signal, ive tried unpluging and reconecting the hd lead.and pressing source button.

When using the onboard vga to vga monitor cable everything works fine?

anyone got any ideas what could be wrong.

the monitor is a benq gl2240m

Try using a graphics card in that, aswell as checking that the screen res isn't too high..

Have you tried booting it up in safemode aswell?

What is the res of the monitor being used?

Try lowering the resolution in windows with the VGA attached then reboot with the HDMI cable connected.

res is native 1920 x 1080, safe mode doesnt help.
