So after my card died on me I went to use the on-board vga on my msi tomahawk max. But after plugging into on-board HDMI port I get no display. Just red light on vga indicator on the motherboard. And more curiously in the bios under on board peripherals there is no mention of vga. Only audio and lan. It's not a big thing as my old 7970 is in but it would have been handy to not have to take it out of my second pc. There is nothing online. If any me I tomahawk max users could try plugging into the on-board HDMI port and see if it works if appreciate it. I'm using the latest bios. I was thinking it was linked to my dead red devil but it's not as I've tried the card in multiple pcs.

The onboard VGA isn’t provided by the motherboard, it’s provided by the CPU, and only certain AMD CPU’s support onboard VGA.

The 3600 doesn't have built in graphics capabilities. You would need something like the 3400G for that or another APU. You'l need to use your 7970 for now.

Ah ok. I wondered why on my cpu it said discrete graphics card required. I was thinking it had some sort of on-board graphics chip on the motherboard.
