Hi all, been having this dilemna in the last week or so.
Currently I have A Maximus Gene V with Supreme FX III which I dont use.
I do however use my Xonar DSX instead of the above.
Now to my dilemna, Im currently using Edifier R1600T II Plus plugged in to the DSX via 3.5mm jack.
Is this the best I can do given the current setup?
How is the DSX compared to the MGV's onboard sound?
Would I benefit from getting an AMP/DAC for the R1600T II in the meantime?
What are so special about DACs/AMP a soundcard cant do(DSX for instance)
Main uses would be music(just Spotify, none of those fancy file formats
).
Gaming is another main use but depending on the game, I would use my headphones(Sony MDRZX600B) for teamspeak.
I have been reading up on decent budget headphones and I have the following list:
DT770 Pro, not sure on which ohm though
AKG K701/2
HD598
ATH-M50X
Would any on the above list be OK with my DSX?
Say, if I decided to invest on a DAC/AMP to replace my DSX, would the quality be the same/better on the R1600T II?
