Ok currently I use an IDE drive for my Windows install as its easier than messing around with a floppy disk to install to SATA.

So I am going to build a new pc for Vista. I dont really want a floppy drive, and my question is has the Vista install got the SATA drivers in it so you dont need to install them off a floppy.

Got to admit I cant imagine vista needing a floppy drive to install sata drivers but I would rather know beforehand than finding out with a half built machine in front of me and not being able to install anything.

I installed beta's of Vista on my SATA drive without a floppy disk drive.
In fact, i've loaded XP onto my system many times without the need for a floppy disk.

I think you only need to load the drivers if you are installing windows onto sata drives used in a raid configuration.

vista can get is ( F6 type ) drivers from anywere ,usb stick cd/dvd and last resort floppy

if you canont use the make floppy divers use the larger manager ones with the switch -A -P<path> to extrack them without installing ,then copy the files from the extracted files

You said the magic words. At last, drivers can be located during installation from USB! No more floppy disc drive! Thank your preferred deity of choice for that!

I have one floppy disc drive and its a royal pain in the ass moving it from PC to PC when needed for installations.
