Dabbling with a new PC where everything seemed to work fine until I tried to place an order on line.
It's not with OCUK this time because they don't sell this item.

I can do everything I've needed to until today when I tried to place an order and instead of the 'verify by visa' screen coming up the screen flashes and I'm back where I was.

The sum involved is only £15 and my bank confirm they have not refused the transaction.

The PC has AVG 2014 Free and Comodo Free FW installed.

Can anyone suggest why the 'verify by visa' screen is not coming up since I assume something on my PC is preventing it.
I'm using pretty standard settings in the FW and AV apart from Comodo where I elected to use their DNS servers. I also stealthed the ports.

I was using IE but have the same issue with Firefox - I was using the portable version for convenience.

This has been happening to me for almost 2 years, but it confirms rather than going back. Only on sites that I use regularly though, any new site and it pops up for the password as it should.

My visa verify just skips it & automatically accepts, does it remember your computer or something (like steam) as otherwise it's useless.

Maybe check to make sure nothing is blocking pop-ups as the verified by visa page is an external page to the site you are making the payment on, normally loaded in a iframe.

I get that verified by Visa, If you are using no/script with FF make sure you allow the TLD (arcot.com) when you click through otherwise it don't work.

I tried again using IE and Firefox with no success.

I'd created Backups of the drive so I restored back to shortly after a clean install with only M$ updates on and nothing else. No AV or separate FW.

IE settings were default which didn't suggest anything that would cause problems.
I also used Firefox Portable again with default settings which didn't look as if it would cause problems.
It still fails.

I read a comment that Adobe Shockwave or similar might be needed specifically in reference to 'Verify by Visa'. No idea if that's the case or not.

It's now a clean install with basically nothing else so I'm now out of ideas.

Ahhh okay, it may be worth contacting the store and asking them if they know of any issues? I've never had any trouble my end and I would be surprised if something is still stopping it after a reset.

I can get on the site, log in and work through the order process but get stuck when I'm pretty sure the Verify by Visa window should open.
Instead the screen flashes and I'm stuck on the page.

I can't imagine my ISP would block access to the Verify by Visa page but I've no real idea what's causing it.

I'm beginning to suspect it's not something that's installed on my PC but something which isn't.
My wild guess could be Adobe Flash or similar which perhaps some 'sites' need.

Setting up a new off the shelf PC:

1.turn on.
2.update drivers and os.
3.remove bloat ware.
4.profit???

This. I got a PC off a cycle to work-type scheme last year with a Norton trial preloaded. First thing was to remove Norton, stick Windows Defender on (that's what it's called on Windows 8). Disable the browser choice in Msconfig (Msconfig is now in Task Manager as a separate tab), set up Firefox (I use portable) with Ad-block and British dictionary, update drivers, install Windows 8.1 if you want, use a custom HOSTS file, set a system restore point and see how you get on.

Verfied by VISA won't be an IP or ISP issue. Perhaps keep checking programs and features section in the control panel for other preloaded programes?
