Heard a beta tester call it akin to trying to play a badly buffered youtube video. I cannot see this being a long term success for any but a few who have high enough bandwidth (it'll get crucified with current UK style useage policies) and low latency connections, let alone the not insignificant cost to setup all the hardware needed to make the service run at a reasonable capacity.

you see i have seen beta testers saying it was very good and as fast as playing a console.

But they have chosen people with high internet connections to test so its manipulated,

This could be a great service for some.

Im sure they wont waste time and money launching it if it runs like a bag of a nails.

Also boosts the PC game industry so we all win.

rather the opposite if it did become big

but it will be almost a new platform, better than consoles and dare i say it better than pc's. If the lag is not noticable and you can still use mouse and keyboard and the pricing is not bad then it will be a massive hit!

not really paid much attention to the service, i understand what it is but for me the issue is cost.

fixed monthly fee and you buy games like normal. Basically, imagine how much a top end pc costs, then split that up over what 3 years untill you would have to upgrade again. Call it £1000/36months = if it is no more than £30ish a month then it would be very very good IF the connection and speed is good. I wouldn't consider using it till there was a uk server station though. All you need is internet and a pc capable of running windows xp (£100 or less basically) and a tv screen, pretty much everyone i know has this set up already
