On o2, Looking to upgrade to iPhone

Ok, so a few months ago I wanted to upgrade early to the iPhone but it said I would have to wait until my contract expires and you couldn't upgrade early.

Now after visiting the o2 site it says you can upgrade early at no extra charge providing you sign up for another 18 month contract. But I cannot see where to do this via the website. Can you only do it instore?

If you read the website you have to upgrade either by ringing the upgrade number on the website or going to an O2 store.

Do you already have the 2G iPhone?

If not, then basically you can't upgrade early. I've tried.

You can upgrade early only if you have an original iPhone (and you're on the official iPhone contract with it). The O2 website says this quite clearly. From any other O2 contract you have to wait until the end as normal.
