On paper, who will win the WC?

Which team do you think, on paper, can win the WC. Obviously anything can happen which is all part of the whole football experience but who do you think can do it.

On paper, I think Itay can win the WC2006. Think about it, its hard to think how they can not win, really.

I think its going to be a cracking WC this year, everyone is on show, all the new kids, the Argies looking great, The European teams looking on form, really cant wait. Wish i could take a month off work

On current form of players for Brazil, I don't think they are clear candidates here...

Ronaldo and Adriano from that list have been pap so far this season.

With the recent form of Del Piero and the rather lack of any games for Cassano, we can safely say Del Peiro will get the nod

Cassano is young he will get another chance, this may well be Del Piero's last chance to win anything for the Azzurri.

Gila and Toni up front, with Totti behind them looks like a good combo. swap Totti for Del Piero as you please.

Not quite, has fractured his left ankle and some ligament damage. Shame that, will take him at least 2 months to recover, and even then it will be a struggle for him to become match fit for the WC. Hope he makes it OK. Italy still have Del Piero who can fill his boots though...

I'm not sure why Sven doesn't experiment with Bridge at LB and Cole in the left wing position. He is allowed to play them together, he is accustomed to playing players out of position, why not try this one out... which may work.

Yes I can see where your coming from, this is something that can easily be interchanged though so if one way doesn't work... I suppose more pace from the left back area would come in more handy than say from the middle of the left midfield area, where the majority of the crossing will take place if they were to adopt this tactic.
