Can anyone confirm if the AppleCare allows onsite support for faults and parts etc?
I am unclear from reading the literature on the Apple site.
Buying three for work and don't relish having to lug them back to the nearest Apple shop if something goes wrong!

One stop for technical support

Because Apple designs the computer, the operating system, and many applications, the Mac is a truly integrated system. And only the AppleCare Protection Plan gives you one-stop service and support from Apple experts, so most issues can be resolved in a single call. Here’s what you get:
Direct access to Apple experts
Global repair coverage
Onsite repair: Request that a technician come to your work site
Carry-in repair: Take your Mac to an Apple Retail Store or other Apple Authorized Service Provider

When I was dealing with AppleCare I was told that for the majority of cases (I don't remember if it was all, but it could very well have been), the "On-Site" repair actually means that a technician will come round and diagnose, but they have to take the machine away for repairs. Worth asking about whether this is actually the case (as they've given me incorrect information before).

Thanks both.
Different link to the one I found which just said Onsite Service, which I felt was a little vague.
Could live with someone coming and taking the machine. It's just the hassle of having to find a local Apple shop and take it there that is the problem.

Should mention that the on-site repair service is done by Apple Authorised Service Providers, not Apple themselves. Apple will contact the AASP who will then contact you to book. Come to think of it, that time I did actually have work performed (display replacement), and it had to go to London. As the display is the first part that comes out, I presume that all work performed on an iMac would have to be done in the manner above, unless there is another option that I wasn't informed about. But as said previously, best bet is to ask Apple themselves :)
