We lost arguably the greatest of them all, Jimmy Clark. Obviously I never saw him race as I wasn't even 1 when he died, but I have read much about him over the years and there is zero debate that he is one of the greatest and for many, the greatest.

RIP Jim Clark.

Likewise, I was too young to witness Jim Clark racing. I became a fan when reading Formula One books as a nipper. I used to visit my local library for motor racing and aviation books. A combination of Michael Turner paintings and stunning photo's above, just piqued my interest.

Years ago when I was only around 10 years old, my father gave me his 60's Scalextric collection. In one track book, Clark describes racing on the legendary tracks, this sealed the deal when I was a nipper as I was (still do) love slot racing. A full blown racing driver who endorsed 'toys' made a huge impression.

An often overused term, but a genuine legend.
