Onboard HDMI - Doesn't work in BIOS?

I just put a system together with an MSI H81i m-itx board and when booting up with the HDMI connected to my TV I got no signal. I connected it to an old monitor by DVI and it works fine. Just wondering if on onboard HDMI only work once booted in to an OS?

There is a setting in the BIOS for it somewhere. Although I did boot my system first time from built in HDMI and have an MSI board. Try a CMOS reset.
