I think i might have the answer to my own question but i need someone else's opinion on this issue.

I'm looking to construct a HTPC over the next coming weeks. I dont know if i should be going down the route with onboard HDMI or a motherboard with a dedicated Graphics card with HDMI port?

With the advantages of having a GPU over Onboard video to free up performance / resources on the PC itself? Will i see any visual difference between the onBoard HDMI over compared to the GPU?

Thanks

During Blu-ray playback you may notice a CPU usage drop, depending on the card and who makes it. ATI's onboard offerings are good, Intel's are questionable.

I've recently built an ITX machine around the nvidia 9300 chipset, the HDMI output ios very good and the CPU doesn't take much of a hit. Previously used an ATI based Abit FI 90 board (first one with HDMI) and it was solid too.
