onboard sata drivers help

What issues are you having?

SATA tends to be plug & play as Ethermaster mentions.

Most drivers would be installed with Win 7 or via the chipeset drivers.

i got a new dvd burner

after a few mins of being in windows my pc just locks up and blue screens :(

i take out the drive and everything is fine.

The drive is fine in my other pc though :/

any ideas chaps?

go to device manager, uninstall them and then restart your pc, they should automatically install again on default settings.

if this doesn't help, try and update your chipset driver.

It should be just a case of installing, let windows find and install the driver automatically.

Can you try another SATA lead or a different SATA port.

My ASUS p4p800 is 8 years old and runs SATA drives (e.g. SSDs) without any driver. Only need to take any action if RAID is needed.
