Hi,

To my horror I've recently discovered I must purchase a new motherboard as the damage done won't be covered under warranty. The board I did have was an Asus Rampage II Extreme, it had an onboard Supreme X-Fi soundcard which was nice. This time around I was thinking about buying the Gigabyte UD5 based off reviews and cheaper price, I don't know what the onboard sound is like on it though. Can anyone shed some light on whether it would be good to go for the Gigabyte this time around?

Please let me know, thanks!

sorry for being nosy but isnt this board covered by a 2 year warranty of sorts ?...
what was the damage that killed it.
if the sound is close to the output on my Rma'd Gigabyte x38 DS5 then its not bad but nowhere near as good as a dedicated sound card.
