Hey guys, im in a bit of a quandry. I have 2 cards, an Audigy 2 Value 7.1 and a very very old SB Live! 512. However i'm currently using my onboard chip which is this: Realtek ALC883 6-channel CODEC, Audio Sensing and Enumeration Technology, Multi-Streaming with 1 X Coaxial S/PDIF out ports on back I/O.

I have my Creative Cambridge Soundworks DTT3500 5.1 system hooked up to the onboard via a coax cable to the s/pdif on the mobo. As far as I see, it works fine and does the trick.

I however also have these physical cards sitting doing nothing, is it worth my while using either of them? The midi port on the Live! would be handy, but not really necessary. I could connect to either of the cards by Digital DIN, but i've used the audigy 2 before, but wasn't that enamored with it. Think it'd be worthwhile using it or the Live instead of my onboard? Will I honestly notice much difference if at all? Is there much of a difference between the Audigy and the Live anyway (apart from the 7.1 processing on the audigy)?

Or would it really be worthwhile investing in something like the Creative X-Fi Xtreme Gamer Soundcard or any alternative? Thanks a lot guys!
