...to build a couple of rigs for my son & daughter. They want to stream minecraft, now I understand there will be a performance hit but there's no budget for a dedicated streaming PC.

Poor things are currently using some old PC's I got from work, we're talking second gen i3's. So at a pinch, I could still use these cases and I have one decent PSU already. I also have a 250Gb SSD and a 1Tb hybrid I can salvage out of a NAS.

Like the title says, I've not built a PC for a long time, my last serious build was using the Abit BP6 motherboard with dual celerons and those lovely golden orb coolers!

Research so far has lead me down the X570 chipset and a Ryzen 5 of some descrip. I'd be looking to save costs wherever possible so both will prob go for only 8Gb DDR4 to start and a board that will let me upgrade to 16Gb later.

I can fully see that keeping the old HP cases might be a hassle, I made the mistake of getting a very small PC and it has a dinky GTX970 in it but now limited upgrade options.

Budget is around £600 per rig. Got the two drives and a modular 600w PSU already.

Yes, they want to live stream on Twitch\YouTube while playing minecraft. Interesting, never gave much thought to integrated graphics. How would 5600g compare to say a GTX1660 Super? I notice the latter quite cheap on AliExpress, much risk buying from there? I'm ok with longer ship times.

Gtx 1660 super is a monster compared to the onboard graphics of the 5600g but there nearly £400 each. No experience with Aliexpress Wouldn't buy any component unless it was a reputable company like Overclockers.

Yeah Ali did seem too good to be true. So something like this would be a solid start, would you change anything?

Would that be plenty PSU to add a dedicated GPU later? RAM has to be installed in pairs or could I get a single 16Gb stick?

You need pairs of ram otherwise you will loose a 20 to 30 % fps .

The motherboard will need a bios update to work with the 5600x this can bd done with a feature on the motherboard called bios flashback, no need for another cpu.

This has bios flashback.

650w psu is enough for a decent gpu.

A waste of cash spending £240 on a CPU to run minecraft when you can get a CPU MB RAM and PSU for not much more then use the spare cash for a GPU.

Used GTX 1070 go for around £250 or a GTX 1070ti for around £300

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £270.02 (includes shipping: £11.10)
