One card in SLI running hot

Hi All

Just wondering if I could have some advice from the forum? I have 2 x GTX780's in SLI and have just noticed that one of them is running at 60C idle while the other runs at a more reasonable 34C. Fans are both running but with the hotter cards fan running approx. 300RPM quicker.

Should I remove the heat sink and replace the thermal paste or would a replacement heat sink / fan be in order?

Any and all suggestions welcome.

Cheers

Its normal for the top card to be a bit hotter, moreso at load though. How many monitors are you running as this can cause the top card to be a bit hotter.

Just check the card clocks using GPU-Z as it could just be that one card is not downclocking when idle. I believe this can happen with SLI with two different spec monitors like setter mentioned.

Certainly happened with my SLI 580s but not with the 970s...

2 Monitors but stooeh very good point, just checked and the hot cards core clock is idling at 692 Mhz and the cooler one is 324 Mhz.
