was hoping the silent PSU would be an option ??? dont you think it would hack it

with Vista wanted to get up and running with vista for the woo effect ( joking ) nah was that fact of the direct x 10 and that cant see me going above 4gb's of ram. seems that's about all vista's differs dont want to spend more than nessary on the OS, bill gates has enough money already. :)

Seriously, don't get Vista Basic(someone more knowledgable then me will tell you for sho), leave youreself open for more RAM, it's so cheap now.

As for the PSU, doubt there is much difference in noise level between OCZ and Corsair, just cos it says silent, doesn't mean it is.

Unless I missed something critical the only difference between Basic and Premium was the Aero interface, hardly crippling.

Get Vista Home Premium dude.

No point buying a good system like that and then running an OS with its nads cut off.

I got the Corsair PSU from recomendations on this board, it is completely silent would definately recomend this!

The way I see it is the OP is spending all this money on great hardware but is getting the most inferior version of the OS(ok basic32 is). Can't help but think they might regret it in the longer run. Premium is only 20 quid more and has much more features.

after going through the list of things vista adds makes me think that wont use most of it. turn most of Winxp at the momement. and use different programs to do what vista trys to do. but for the £20 difference think may swallow.

Like the look of the Gigabyte board so going to change to that. prefer abit but would take gigabyte as second choice.

have changed the PSU.

once up and running would oc maybe 5% to 10% wont be able to afford to replace anything that goes bang.

any other suggestionl..

That was the intention with watercooling for quiet machine, was thinking maybe air cooled so could double the ram. but what cpu cooler for the quad cpu and still silent.
