One Core Hotter Than Rest

I have just installed my Thermalright Silver Arrow onto my i5 2500k.
On RealTemp, it is telling me that my forth core (think that's what it is) is at quite a bit higher temperature than all the others, which are constantly the same.

Is this something to worry about? Is it a problem? Do I need to sort it out?

Thanks.

May be uneven thermal paste, or a slightly wonky cooler but it is most likely a dodgy thermal sensor on the chip/software bug. I'd say there is nothing to worry about IMO

It's pretty normal, nothing to worry about. Had this with every one of my quad cores from Q6600 to i5, i7 and now SB. Currently my 2nd core is about 5deg hotter than the others, though I've seen differences of up to 10deg.

i actually get it the opposite way round, 1 core cooler than the rest, heh

Or 3 cores hotter than 1 depending on how you look at it. :p

Processors would have to be designed and manufactured near perfectly to get the same temps on all cores, AMD's hex cores will also have a lot of variance but their temperature monitoring is poor.
