Hello all, the 6600GT in my AGP setup died on me a few weeks ago so I need a new one now, I bought a 3650 Vcool Silent version, but it wouldnt display an image at all, yet the PC booted up fine, I have a 300w PSU and although I saw online this should be enough, the box recommended 350w, so i'm guessing that was the problem? but anyway I have a 3000+, 2gig of RAM and a 300w PSU, what gfx card/upgrades would you recommend? since it's AGP I really dont wanna spend a ton, but it will be a future second PC so any decent upgrades will be welcome, oh and on another PC I have a Pentium 4 2.6ghz dual core CPU, would you say this is better than my 3000+ XP? Many Thanks for the help and suggestions guys

I presume your agp slot is an 8x slot as opposed to a 4x right? I ask because more 6600s will happily run on both but higher powered cards generally don't like the 4x slots. Also did you remember to plug in the extra power lead into the back of the graphics card from your PSU?

If both those things are correct you need a more powerful PSU most likely, unless your card is faulty.

With regards to Dual Core Intel P4, yes better than a single core AMD Athlon XP 3000+ I'd say.

Yeh I was thinking a PSU upgrade and then a Gfx card upgrade would be my limit, then that'd be a pretty nice AGP system as a backup PC i'd say, well, hopefully anyway haha :p
