When Vista first came out I bought the 64-bit version and was severely disappointed. The drivers for my "Ready for Vista" motherboard caused all kinds of stability woes and lots of my applications didn't work.

I've now got a different motherboard and I've upgraded to 4GB of RAM. I think I'm now ready to give Vista another go.

Before I do, I was wondering if anyone had problems with any of the following programmes under Vista 64:
  • iTunes
  • Nokia PC Suite/Software Updater
  • Office 2000 (yes, still using it :p)
  • Handbrake
  • Gimp
  • Filezilla
  • mIRC
  • Picasa
  • AnyDVD
  • Firefox/Chrome
  • uTorrent
Cheers. :)

For me, GIMP behaved a bit oddly, so I ditched it and use Paint.NET now, free and does what I need.

itunes has a bit of an issue with graphics, I get black areas on load up and need to minimise it to get the missing parts. The rest of it works ok.

Filezilla
mIRC
Picasa
AnyDVD
Firefox/Chrome
uTorrent

All fine. Also version 3 of Picasa is out now as well which is very nice.

If you have Outlook 2000 as part of Office you may have problems, I think that there are various issues with it and Vista

I have 65 pieces of software installed on Vista64 and have yet to encounter an issue :)
