Been fiddling with Capture NX and Photomatix today. I think the B&W one works better. Photo is of York Minster.

The B&W picture works a lot better, very atmospheric, I like it a lot. Can't offer any advice on improvements as I can't think of anything you could do to improve it. Very nice! :)
 
Agree about the B&W shot, much better. All I would suggest is just cropping the left hand side a little to get rid of that buttress or whatever it is. I find it a little distracting. Nice shot though.
 
I was trying the same thing with a church today yet it was just too foggy, couldn't even see it and it wasn't even eerie, just non-existant. I think the angle height is a bit bland but it looks alright. :)
 
I like that a lot, the fog gives a really nice effect in black and white, suits the photo here aswell.

It does look better without that post on the left, but it wasnt a huge distraction t begin with, not for me anyway.

I tried to get out yesterday when the fog was here to get some decent shots but it was that thick here I couldnt see a thing!!! :eek:
