One from today for a bit of C&C

Hello, managed a few from my garden today when the rain finally stopped.

Could I have some C&C on this one please, particularly the colours...to dark maybe? Wondering if I'm overdoing the photoshopping! Of course, any other C&C is welcome.

I like the colours, very bold and eye catching. What detracts from it though is that the background is too busy and the colours in it are too strong and this draws the eye away from the main subject. A more neutral background would provide a much better surrounding for the main subject and make the flowers stand out much better.

I like it though, nice DOF and nice and sharp. Good effort

I agree with what Scuzi has said. It could also have done with bing framed a little higher, so as to include more of the top petal. Other than that that, its got a very nice feel to it.

Yep, that's a really good attempt! The DoF is spot on in my opinion and the colours and contrast are great - doesn't look overdone in PS, just vibrant.

I do agree that the background detracts from it slightly, which is a shame - take a piece of black / other coloured card out with you next time as a backdrop maybe? The framing could be improved, though that's really down to personal preference - maybe google the 'rule of thirds' as a starting point.

I've so much to learn having only had a decent camera for just under two weeks so if it's OK, I'll be putting more photo's up over the coming weeks/months/years...if that's OK with you all

I will say in my defence about the framing...it was very windy, which made things a little tricky
