Hi this is my first post here and after reading through a lot of threads I'm unable to find an answer to my question

I'm currently trying to spec a new pc for myself but cant decide whether to go for a 8800GTX (upgradeable to sli in probably 12 months) or for 2 8800GT's right now ?

I would like crysis to run as flawless as possible really :)

System I'm looking at so far is

CoolerMaster Stacker 831
Q6600
ASUS SILENT KNIGHT II
4GB CORSAIR XMS2
ASUS P5N32-E SLI
2 x 74GB WD Raptor
800W Quiet Quad Rail PSU
22" monitor

can anyone help :)

Oh yes I will probably overclock too

I'd say go for a 3870x2 at the end of the month instead.

Then you can upgrade to Quad crossfire down the line. SLI FTL.

Either that or at least wait to see what the new nVidia offerings turn out like.

Nvidia single card solutions perform better but in dual card setups, Crossfire scales better than SLI.

So if you're going for 1 card, go for a 8800GT or wait for the 9000 series.

If you wanna go the multi GPU route, ATI wins at the moment imo.
