Thought this video was quite interesting, 1 guy is going to try and build stonehenge with simple tools, looks like hes doing well.

He has has demonstrated that he can lift a Stonehenge-sized pillar weighing 22,000 lbs and moved a barn over 300 ft

 
Excellent. As a structural engineer I can appreciate the forces involved in that sort of operation. Like most solutions the elegance is in the simplicity but did the builders of Stonehenge use that technique, I doubt we will ever be sure.

It does seem like one that they may have used, very simple yet very very effective.

I hope that when I am a grandad and retired I can **** about with gert big lumps of concrete on my own ranch. :D
