Hey guys! Well here's the story I got a 400w corsair powersupply and was fairly set at getting the hd 6870 for around the 170 pound mark, but now looking around it seems that prices have been bumped up to around 200 pounds. I have been looking around and saw the gtx 470 for around 186 pounds but that would mean me have to spending aorund 50 pounds on a new power supply, this now comes down to which one gtx 470 or hd 6870?

6870

In my experience, the AMD will be better. It is worth the extra over the nVidia. i would wait until the new Cayman and Antilles cards come out in November, hopefully this will make the 6870 prices drop!

They wont drop the price when the 69XX series come out. They are the mid range are already priced as such

I don't know how you can say they are priced correctly for mid range when the 5770 were mid range and they did not cost anywhere near £200 :(

I've got my 6870 running with a 450w modular Corsair and all manner of other guff. No probs.

Sorry you missed out on the lower prices. :( For once, I'm sorta glad I jumped in early.
