I've not looked at hardware for such a long time i'm totally out of it!!!

From reading the hardware section the last week or so i've cobbled together what I think is a good system. Please can some of you good chaps have a look and advise if this is all going to work together and provide a bit of non-extreme overclocking.

I can be flexible on the budget but dont really want to go too far over what i've got for the sake of a few fps/textures :)

All looks good to me, I can't see any issues with the component selection at all although I'd perhaps go for the 7200.10 250gb for the 16mb cache, not that it makes a huge deal of difference. :)

Thats the kind of advice i was after, thanks :)

I have a Seagate 7200.10 and I can tell you mine is pretty noisy. Ive heard that Seagate make two types of 7200.10s and one is louder than the other but if you do not want to take the risk I would highly recommend a Samsung Spinpoint.

Also, the PC-7 is a couple of years newer than the PC-60 & and it looks better imo, you will also save yourself £12. You can't go wrong with any Lian-Li case though.

I'd sort of forgotten about this but one uses green glue and one has a pink glue blob on the motor to distinguish which factory they come from if memory serves but there is more information about it in the hard drives forum if you do a quick search, I've got a 7200.10 250gb and it is near silent.

Another option is the newly released Western Digital AAKS series of drives, on a par with the 7200.10s for speed but all are supposed to be quiet, the only thing is that 320gb is the smallest size I've seen on OcUK.
