I guess it's either 18-55mm kit lens, or 17-55 bad boy lens 
If it's the latter, then take that on it's own. Tbh I'd probably take that and the fifty given it's tiny size.

It isn't evidence because you are not charged with anything at that point in time. It is only evidence once you have been charged and the factual allegations have been made clear. Otherwise it's simply your property do with as you wish and no one and nobody has the power or authority to compel you to do anything with it.
Evidence is relative and cannot be brought to bear without the charge.
But I understand your basic logic otherwise.
By telling you to delete something they must assume they are breaking the law (or abusing their power), in which case they should arrest you, and it will become evidence as previously mentioned.
Either way not deleting a photo is not an offence and they can't do anything to you (other than pester you a bit).

If the worst comes to the worst simply delete all the pics and pull the card from the camera. Take it home and run your favorite unerase program over it.

or just comply with the copper, delete the photos, take the card out and put it in your pocket, and load your camera with another card.
then, later, run photorec on the card to get all the deleted photos back, it'll work 100% if you don't write any more data to the card.

So anyway lol
Just on train from Birmingham to Derby to be honest I didn't get anytime to take photos at the stations and when in Paris I was just scared to get my camera out at night. Would love to go back just not by myself didn't feel safe at all up and around moulin rouge where my hotel was.
The only shots I did get are prob ruined by lack of full tripod. I'll get them uploaded tomorrow
