One of the results servers is down

Of course, it's the one my borgs want to talk to and three of them have unsent WUs so far. What are the chances of it getting fixed before Monday afternoon?
 
Which server is it? Is this for SMP work? I can't see anyone really fussing about it on the forums over there which I would have expected if it was an SMP server down :confused:
 
No, it's a 'normal' one - 171.65.103.100 to be precise. It does show as 'standby' and 'not accepting' on the server status page.

Ahh right - that's the collection server which just helps out when the others are busy, they should be trying to return them to another server before trying the collection server - when the collection server comes back up (it's down at the moment for a major overhaul) it may be able to take the WU or may still not be able to without the information from the server your WU originally came from :o

Two of my machines have work waiting for 171.65.103.68 which has been down a few weeks now - even before the collection server went down they weren't getting through, kept getting the "server has no record of this unit" from the collection server which meant it kept uploading it every 6hrs to see if anything had changed :rolleyes: Thankfully it's not a very big file otherwise I'd be pretty brassed off by now :p

Yep got 4 WUs in waiting (was 5 but deadline passed), 2 for that server 2 for the other.

I don't know about yours but mine aren't too big (5MB & 1.6MB), I did have another WU waiting for another server which was 27MB which kept uploading to the collection server only to be refused - it was killing my broadband as I only have 256kbps upstream :o

171.65.103.68 has a disk problem so they're being extra thorough getting it back up so as not to lose all the data - well worth waiting for and thankfully the deadlines for these are nice and long :)
 
I'm somewhat miffed now. I had four borgs waiting to upload WUs. One has finally uploaded, two are still unable to upload and the fourth has been told there was a problem with the WU and the results have been dumped. I wouldn't be at all surprised if it had gone over the deadline as those for some of the current WUs are quite short. Not a happy snappy....
