recently HAD to move my pc away from the router so i had to get a wireless card. im currently using a F5D8233-4-v1 belkin router which is awesome. never let me down. all 3 of my laptops in the house can connect to it and always could. its running wpa-psk security with mac address filtering.

now the adapter i bought is branded EDUP, its a PCIe spec card. it is detected as a intel wifi link 5100 agn.

i dont know what has happned with it, it worked fine for about 20 mins when i first connected it, but then it suddenly dropped connection and it can see the router, but cant manage to connect to it.

what can i try? or is the card itself dead?:confused:

just like to add everything is updated and signal is 4/5 bars. sometimes 5 bars on the laptop and the pc (when it DOES connect its not getting internet access)

This may sound stupid, but, Have you added your wireless cards mac address to the mac address filtering table?

yes i have, and i also tried connecting without any security i.e. no wep / wap / wpa. and no mac address filtering, i have no idea why it suddenly wont work.

ive reinstalled drivers multipul times tried enabling / disabling. is the adapter dead?

if no1 can help. which out of the OCUK networking range is best? it will be permenent and just the next room from the router, not sure to go pci again or head for USB.

what are my options
