hi there,

I've never dealt with this sitatuon before.

we have a small office of 6 pc's - 4 on one companies domain and 2 on another companies domain.

they need to maintain their individuality but also share files between them - anyone know how i can share files on a new server without putting them all on the same domain?

cheers,

if ip addressing is the same on all laptops use the ip address \\10.10.10.10\share aslong as the policy is open to allow them to map drives or access run command

Yep, create the "other domain" users an account on your domain and map the drives on their machines using that. Failing that, knock up a batch file with "net use". Find that one quite handy as you can mount/umount drives with a double click of an icon.

You could also setup the domains to trust each other.

Only if you can talk to both DCs (presuming it's a Windows server), guessing as they visitors are on site that might be a problem.
