im roughly 6 foot 2 and 14.5 stone and being looking for a one piece suit and have tryed a couple on but i feel im to tall for them.

they all seem to be too tight height wise between my balls and shoulders and too lose everywhere else

one suit i tryed on while standing i could barely lift my arms above horizontal while standing, is this normal?

they seem to fit better when sitting on the bike but still not great

idealy i would get a taylor made suit but dont have that kind of money

does anyone have any recommendations of suits to try? or should i be looking at 2 pieces/texstiles or something else

thanks

What sort of money do you have , you can get a decent tailor made suite for the same sort of money as a mid to high end off the peg, but then your looking at around £700+

Have you tried BKS or Alpinestar suits? they always seemed better for the taller man than say Dainese or Arlen Ness, I know my BKS suit is the most comfortable and I'm 6 ft 1.

To be honest in anything other than sportsbike riding position a 1 piece is going to be uncomfortable, that's why you see most people walking like space men in them :p
I always at minimum unzip the front when I am off the bike for a bit more give but usually let the top half hang behind.

If you don't ride a sportsbike I recommend you have a look at the supermoto 1 piece leathers, they are designed for sit up position and have two zips down either side of your chest.

sadly my budget is a lot less than that, im looking at bottom of the range or second hand

one of the suits i tryed on was an alpinestar, this was the one where i could barely reach my arms up when standing but it does seem a ok fit on the bike

to tell the truth im still kinda tempted as its a baragin at £250 (second hand but hasnt been worn) and hope it gives a bit

ive got a triumph tt600 and will probs go for a jap sports bike next

thanks for the advice

If you think thats bad, try getting one for 6'4" and almost 18 stone:(

Tried a few on at the NEC bike show a couple of years ago and couldn't get the sodding things back off!!! My missus was in tears of laughter.
I'm looking at 2-piece suits now.

Another option is getting one that 'almost' fits and getting it altered, I use www.hill4leather.co.uk with my race one piece for both crash damage and alterations

I'm a little large yet quite short at 5'8 so leathers either plain don't fit or the legs are massively too long, he took 7 inches out of my race leather legs (2 above knee, 5 below) for a reasonable sum (with no repairs the website states £75) and does very good work, just recently got them back again after some repairs due to me crashing a couple of times and again a decent price and good work :)

Next time I buy road leathers I intend to buy and then immediately take them to him to sort the legs out, still gonna be much cheaper than tailor made ones...
