One speaker louder than the other!

I recently purchased a Sony SRSD211 2.1 system for my PC and I have noticed one speaker is noticeably louder than the other. I have checked the balance and it's set to the center, I have disconnected and re-connected all the leads and even swapped the speakers over.

The problem persists, my old Logitech 2.1 was alright. Do you think it's a faulty speaker or is does Windows 7 throw this wobbler at you from time to time?

I have adjusted the balance in the sound control panel to compensate but I feel I shouldn't have to.


Any thoughts?

I sometimes get that with my xonar D1, a restart should fix it i think...assuming the speakers aren't faulty
