One X as 4K Player

How is the X as a 4K player these days?

I had an S and there were a few issues with certain discs freezing/not playing (Ragnarok/Last Jedi if I remember correctly).

Have they been ironed out now?

The question should be are you using the X for primary gaming? The 4k films would be a bonus.

Had no issues with my One X being used as a 4k disc player. It does the job very well, although I have nothing else to measure it against. $k movies on my B8 look great.

There will be people say a dedicated player is better, but the difference may not be noticable.

Xbox one X does the job but a (decent) 4k player will be better basically. I look at it as a bonus of a gaming machine, if the sole purpose is a 4k player I would get something else.

I used the One X until I got a proper player.

It was decent enough. At the time I wanted Dolby Vision support, but as of Aug 2018 Xbox does support DV as well.

As of November 19th 2019 it still doesn’t..... in disc format. Streaming it does.
