It's something I've never used before but I'm thinking of using OD to store my documents. I already backup to my NAS and have 2 sets of backup disks I rotate to do this. For added protection, can I encrypt the documents folder in the OD folder? Is it even worth the effort? If so, my next question is what encryption software are people using nowadays?

You can encrypt the local cached folder but it won't sync. OD uses TLS anyway so probably not worth it in the grand scheme of things

Depends why you want it to be encrypted? If you dont want MS looking at it then it will need to be encrypted locally and the encrypted files sync'd with onedrive. I use rclone for a similar purpose if you have a linux box it can be setup quite nicely, but you will lose file versioning and other features from onedrive.

Just paranoid about MS looking at my letters! Sounds like it's not really worth the effort, I can always password the docs I need to.
