Hi all,

Since the release of the "Next Gen" sync client one of the things Microsoft was trying to do was remove the 20,000 item sync limit from the old client. Does anyone know if this has actully been done as it doesnt say anywhere about it really.

We had a couple of customers wanting to use it the same as dropbox for colaberation but this limit hit a lot of them and stuff stopped syncing to their devices.

Cheers

I believe the 20k file limit for users OneDrive for business has now been lifted, please be aware this does not sync shared files though so no real collaboration I'm afraid.

Thank you,

Im constantly telling users this is not a collaboration tool and its a "personal" storage and the label of "for business" is not helping either. So just to clarify if John and Bob have their OneDrive for business and John shares a folder with Bob, Bobs client will not download this but it will be available to view "online"?

I suppose a way around this would be for both or all users to log into OneDrive as the same account but completely miss the point of collaboration?

Yes that is correct.

You can do this and it works to a point, if its mainly MS documents hey are using? If so try to discourage sync and work directly from the portal.

The next gen sync client should be able to sync SharePoint document libraries including group files before the end of the year.
