o'Neill calls off talks

with middlesbrough regarding the vacant position :(

http://home.skysports.com/list.asp?...lid=3&title=Boro+and+O'Neill+talks+called+off

im gutted. but who can we bring in next....venables turned it down (not that i wanted him, o'neill was my personal first choice) but next in line could be curbs, or mogga.

but according to the link above SS dont reckon it will be either and that Southgate might take it, which im a bit sceptical (sp) about....hmmm, anyway gutted o'neill doesnt want it :(

TBH he aint that bad a manager. Problem was he can't really manage big clubs. He should have stayed at Blacburn Rovers instead of taking the Toon job.

Not really I think he can doa job and he put a very firm foundation in at Blackburn that I think Sparky is getting the benefit of now
The main differences to Blackburns performance this season compared to others are quite simple to me.
1. Got rid of Souness.
2. Bought Craig Bellamy.
3. Bought Robbie Savage.

They were one of the favourites to be relegated before Souness left , after leaving they picked up more points than Newcastle during Souness's reign at SJP.

He talks a good game and is a very impressive bloke but , as you say , he has his limitations.
He would be ideal at a larger championship club , ala Leeds , Wolves or Palace.
He'd get promotion straight away I reckon.

Its only due to his wife taking a turn for the worse that he didnt take the newcastle job. He was offered a tasty salary and hefty budget to bring in his choice of backroom team. Contracts were drawn up and agreed but due to his wifes health taking a downturn he declined to take on the commitement Newcastle wanted.

Yer reckon?

Souness was the bookies favourite in the sack race at the time, Blackburn must have been laughing all the way to the bank when Newcastle came in for him, meaning compensation for them rather than having to give him a pay off for being sacked.

Martin O'Neill is waiting for Ferguson to leave Man Utd.

edit: FACT!

Garbage.

Man U fans would never accept MON`s style of play.

Strachan has Celtic playing better football than MON ever did.

He simply relies on a 1 dimensional hoof up the park.

O`Neil has very average stats as a manager.

O'Neill gets the best out of every player and gets the team as a unit punching way above their weight. Also wouldnt take not talking from stars he would just drop them, thats why I dont think he got the england job as the FA wouldnt be able to use him as a puppet.

The question is what club is O'Neill gonna go to now?
