onkyo 656 (2 sub confusion)

hi guys I'm new to this forum but not to hifi,
Q the 656 is a 7.2 receiver.
the back of the receiver has 2 outputs for 2 subs
so that's all good until you use on screen menu
which only allows 7.1 config , so how are you supposed
to calibrate receiver properly, makes no sense
any help explanation would help
ps surely its a onkyo mistake or they future proofed
themselves ???

It doesn't calibrate two separate subs both is same signal.

High end gear will calibrate each sub separately running two sets of tones each one for level the another for eq, then volume march each sub.
