Onkyo audio issue

Hello Folks,

I am currently bitstreaming various formats to my Onkyo SR508 amp over HDMI.

If I pause media then the corresponding bitstream lights go out. Clicking play makes them light up again but the audio kicks in a fraction of a second after the video. This can sometimes result in the loss of the first part of a sentence.

Is there anyway to force my media centre to keep the audio stream open rather than closing it down when I hit pause?

Cheers.

Using Windows 7 Media Center with the Shark 007 Codec pack. The behaviour is apparent if I pause any encoded source however. I think normal PCM is ok in this regard.

EDIT: I bitstream audio over HDMI using a ATI 5670.

My V+ box does this when I unpause it. I've just gotten used to rewinding it five seconds after each pause. Not ideal but then not worth me spending hours of my life trying to resolve either.
