Onkyo TXNR-717 issue

Having an issue with my Onkyo AV receiver. I'll be watching sky or WD TV through the A/V then the sound and image will drop for a few seconds then come back on.

Seems to be quite common in some form or another but no real fixes (that I've found) for it.

Anyone else had something similar?

Not an uncommon problem for that year Onkyo receivers AFAIK.

Had a similar issue with my Onkyo and eventually it just died so got it repaired and all was good until a few months later down the line when the front panel display decided to die :rolleyes:

I have Yamaha now and its been excellent wont be buying Onkyo again

I had a load of problems with my 616, signal dropping, black screen for a few seconds etc...turned out it was super-sensitive to cheapo HDMI cables with any kind of noise.

Replaced with a decent cable, all problems solved. Well until one of rear channels failed.

Likewise won't be buying Onkyo again.
