Hi guys,

Been using cafehormozi for years, however, I think their website may have been hacked or something, because a few weeks ago they were absolutely spamming my inbox with wierd messages, literally hundreds, which looked liked posts of some kind however were all in a foreign language, I want to say portugese????

Anyway, I am bit wary of using that website now althoguh my credit card details were not stored.

Any alternatives that you guys use?

Don't do Rave, they were our first try and it was terrible. Tesco has better coffee.

We've been ordering from Jolly Bean recently, local to a friend who loves them and they do free delivery!

Yea they are also really expensive.

Hormozi do 1kg really good beans for £14.50 per kg, cheaper if you order more in bulk.

I just found they sell through eBay so I'll just do that instead. All of the websites mentioned are really expensive.

Most people just want a cup of coffee, not a pretentious load of ********.

Nah I agree. There is a hell of a lot of snobbery when it comes to coffee. Dont get me wrong, I like coffee, I buy the breans and grind them in a grinder, my burr grinder was £35 on Amazon, had it for years, works fine. That coffee is much better than nescafe or whatever, but past that I think people start getting obsessed but much like the emporers new clothes.

Like people spending £500+ on a grinder, why? Surely if its ground its ground?

Have you checked out the prices for 200g bag of coffee in some of the links above?

Yeah but those websites are rip offs, sorry, but the coffee beans I buy at literally half that price are perfectly fine and make nice coffee.

I have bought posh coffee like that before in the past and I dont think it is any better than the stuff I usually get.

Anyway, on the subject of this thread, I found that Hormozi sell through ebay at more or less the same price, just I will just order through them as ebay handles all of the payment transactions.

Which is why I brought up home roasting.

Green beans is half the price, i mean you are making home espresso from beans anyway. It's not really that big a leap. £1000 machine, yes, but that's me. I am not asking anyone to buy that. You are free to judge me on my spending but at the end of the day, I am also free to buy what i want. What I place value in has nothing to do with anyone.

With coffee, you start drinking it, most people start with Instant.
Then you perhaps go to Starbucks or Costa. Some might think "Why waste all that money?! drink instant!"
Then you want something nicer at home so you get a french press or a Moka Pot. Some might think "Why waste all that money?! drink instant"
Then you might want to try another brew method, perhaps a Nespresso machine. Some might think "Why waste all that money?! I drink instant"
Then you want something more fresh, so you get beans and now need a grinder. Probably a £50 burr grinder. Some might think "Why waste all that money?!"
Then you want an espresso machine, you want that strong hit. Some might think "Why waste all that money?!"
Then you want to Upgrade because you've had it a while. May be a Lelit machine, from the Sage. Some might think "Why waste all that money?!"

I could go on, the journey doesn't really have an end, what you think is excessive is not someone else's.

This is coming from someone who buys £1.09 bag of pre-ground to drink at work! I really am flexible on what coffee I buy, but I also find the idea of roasting quite interesting.

Yes, I also have a £500 grinder, but i know people who have that grinder and a £2500 espresso machine. No judgment from me. I am currently using a V60 and have emptied the water from my Gaggia.

I am not judging you. I apologise if it came accross like that, actually I think you have taken a bit of (unfair) bashing in this thread, if you look through, not from me.

You can do what you like if you get enjoyment out of it.

I am just saying, not directly at you, but there is a lot of snobbery and people that are spending a great deal of money buying into marketting ******** to end up with the same result as my half price ebay beans and cheap grinder.

Haha got everyone on the Hormozi, I should get a sales commission.

I find it good but mostly a fair bit cheaper. Not saying it's the best coffee in the world but for the money I don't complain.

Those that use Hormozi, what's your favourite blend or bean for a black coffee.

I don't drink black sorry.

But basically the one I have been ordering for quite some years from them now is the smooth blend / arabica 100%.

I have it light roasted, works out at £12.66 a KG if you buy 3kg at once.

I love it, and I think it's great value.

Just ordered some Hormozi house blend as was getting low and seen them mentioned in here a few times. Usually just buy what's on offer on Amazon but nothing was taking my fancy.

Yea I've been back to using Hormozi for a while now, they are the best I can find.

I'm paying about £13 a kg ordering 4kg at a time and they keep sending me free stuff, including a couple of coffee storage containers that will hold 1kg coffee beans with this like air release seal thing.

Have you tried many of their beans or do you tend to just stick with the same one each time? I ordered their Spanish House blend but just seen they do a Smooth 100% Arabica one which I maybe should have got instead as this one is 4 in strength. Went for the 1kg having no tried it before which is risky so I hope I like it!

Looks like I can still cancel order at the time of posting this if I change my mind and just get the samples instead.

It's up to you.

I'd probably just leave it and see what the Spanish one is like, might be good, I've not tried that one myself.

I tend to hover between the Smooth blend, Excellence blend and Royal blend, I've had Smooth blend the most though, they are all fine, and good price point.

I see people use other coffee retailers, and I'm not saying the coffee isn't better, but Hormozi coffee is decent and significantly cheaper than most other places.

This is the thing that they sent me, it's got like air airtight seal top, you have to press the button to open/close it which lets the air in/out, holds 1kg of coffee beans.

Not bad for free, they've sent me 2 of them now.
