I am everywhere...
I subscribe to an online dvd rental site but im starting to feel sceptical about the whole thing on comparison to Blockbuster etc.
The benefits of online rental are supposed to be - No charge and time limit, free post, vast selection of movies, etc. The thing i have noticed now is when it comes to getting some of the recent releases, it just seem to take forever and they send you something instead. Couple of my friends who use similar services make the same complain to in regards recent releases and stuff.
I am currently using Lovefilm at the moment, anyone else uses something similar but offer a better service? I think i might go back to blockbusters. The online rental claims to have over 25k tittles of movies but find it hard to send you the latest releases.

I use ScreenSelect and lately they've been extremely slow. I sent two DVDs back last Wednesday and only got ONE back this morning. Terrible.

The disc is also scratched and there is no doubt that 10 minutes of the movie (at least) will be unwatchable. Although renting it from a store would be easier, I do find that the shops on the street don't cater to everyones tastes and I wouldn't have such a huge range as online.

I might start to use another similar service if anyone has any recommendations?

Phil.

i used to use lovefilm, but they always sent me films towards the bottom of my list. Well, after about 3 months. guess it was a honeymoon period kinda thing!

none of them appear to be any better than any others. i've used lovefilm, screenselect and blockbuster

My mates in the office use ScreenSelect and the last I heard they were fairly happy with it. Not heard them whinge about any part of it.

I got fed up and cancelled with screenselect, like others always got the unpopular ones, and I'm fussy if I fancy watching a particular type of film I am not satisifed with another type of genre.

Im with lovefilm and yet i find it does take awhile to get recent releases im pretty happy to wait awhile as the list i have is pretty big 170 titles i think.

I tend to get around 4-6 dvd's a week so what would be atleast 16-24 dvd's per month so thats £0.93 - £0.62 per DVD i rent, not bad considering you dont have to pay any postage or hassle going out to a rental shop ;)

I got loads of trials 4 week instead of 2 week codes should anyone want to try them out just give me an e-mail via trust and i'll be happy to sort you out :D

I used to be happy with it until the last month or so. Seems to have gone downhill now, though.

I might give Lovefilm a try soon.

I've had no problems with screenselect apart from getting movies when I want 360 games instead. They must be in short supply.

im with lovefilm and lately they have gone downhill.

dvds at the bittle/bottom of the list get sent, the take a few days to send dvds back out after receive others back.

Im was going to cancel last month, but thought i would give them one more month and if it stays the same, its getting canced at the end of this month,

I was with blockbuster about 18 months ago and it was decent then, online rental was just starting to come out, I was sending 3 back and getting another 3 in 2 days, so nearly 9 a week. :D

Got a voucher for screenselect, sign up and I can get £20 off at DVD.co.uk I will get Top Spin 2 for 360 for £17 :D

I'm with Lovefilm as well phoned up six weeks ago to cancel and they gave me three months for free, so decided to stay. First three weeks three films a week which I'm Happy with. Post them back on the Monday as long as I have three more for the weekend fine. But I have now had three films in total over the last three weeks with one film only dispatched in the last fortnight. So not at all impressed.

If they have not sent out three films for the Bank Holiday weekend so by close of play tomorrow to arrive Thursay or even by Thursday night I will cancel and they can keep the remaing 6 weeks of their free offer.

Joined Amazon on the 6 Discs a month deal for a tenner and have been well impressed plus you get 10% of purchases as well.

I've been with Lovefilm for about a year now. Happy with them, but I have motivation issues about dealing with the DVDs and returning them. I can't really blame that on them!

I'd been with them a year as well when I said I was cancelling and they gave me the 3 months free. Could be worth giving them a call?

Never had a problem with Tesco, I have a good stock of films on my list but always get one of the three or so high priority ones through pretty fast.

I'm suprised to hear of people having problems with lovefilm as I've been using them for a while and not had any problems at all. I get new films fairly quickly when I want them (but then I don't usually bother having a list, I just add a couple of films when I send a couple back). I also have no problems with the speed, virtually always get a new dvd sent out then next day after I have sent one back, so a 2 day turn around.

I've yet to properly try their download service, but that looks ok too (but is at additional cost).

I was with the amazon one, they have a deal atm where you get your first month free or summit.

I don't do it anymore as I found that most of the time I didn't bother with watching em (never seem to have time)

Amazon is well worth joining if you want to buy a few Disc & Box Sets, few guys at work have took the free months trial bought all the discs they wanted at Amazons usual competitive price got the extra 10% off and free delivery, had 6 discs free rental then closed the account. Bit of a no brainer really.
