I recently installed BF1942 + Desertcombat but was disappointed that all the old servers i used to play on were either gone or had no players, shame really as i used to spend hours playing those games
 
renegade...

I love that game and would still be playing if various gaming sites didn't collapse and reinvent themselves then collapse.

I want another game like that.
 
Galaxies, what they did to that was criminal.

The clan i'm in set up a DC server not long ago, but we've now took it down as no-one was playing on it. Shame as it was a really good game, bf2 has just got 'meh'.

All the adults have left leaving a large proportion of sad little kiddies.
 
Planetside, yes it's still got quite a few players but dear god I wish the giant robots were never introduced. Plus at its peak the player base was massive compared to now. The game really benefitted from the extra players.
 
I wish the pre-2001/02 Ultima Online community was still there, specifically on the Lake Superior and Europa servers. Made a lot of friends and had some great times. Shame about the state of the game now.
 
Another vote for Planetside here.

I still play it from time to time and it's ok, and they're making some good progress with some of the updates it seems... but it really does need more people to be as good as it was.

When I quite a long time ago, I thought the kiddies reighned... I don't want to think about how it is now when you say it's gotten worse

They've always reigned - it's just that now with there being less mature players, it's harder to get well... a good guild, or even a good group for an instance.

Trust me, i've been searching over 2 years for a good server to stay on, i've seen it all - hacking, cheating, drama, immaturity, patheticness, greedyness...
 
Galaxies and Planetside. Galaxies I used to enjoy, before CU. Planetside is THE best online experience I've ever had. It will never be beaten in my eyes. Such a shame they brought in BFR's. I wish they would make a Planetside 2.
