I am everywhere...
I went online to play syphon filter today and i ended up with this clan called Ace, i had to play alongside another newbie against 5 of them (yeap 2 vs 5).
It is not the amount of people against me or the two of us, as a matter of fact i like challenges like that. the problem was what this clan was doing - they basically know all the respawning point in the game and they laced it up with anti-personnel mine, meaning as soon as me and the other guy respawn, we are dead again.
The whole thing went on for like 10mins or so, no actual gameplay other than spawing and killing us at the same point  After i just left the room and vowed never to play anyone with the name Ace anymore.

I think spawn campers (i think that's what they are called) should be banned (then some will call for Novice ban too). End of rant thanks.

Frustrating and imo unsporting, but it is a valid tactic. Any game type that has fixed spawn points is inviting that sort of behaviour. So its probable the developers think it is acceptable to do so. Otherwise they would change the spawn points.

I found this happening in graw, having coming from a pc backgrouds of doom, quake, ut and other fps I found spawn camping very annoying and swore never to play graw online again. Infact when I get home its going on ebay.

Stupid thing is, games developers could sort it out, its called "random respawns", or simply stop players from respawning in rooms where there are enemy.

Forces the enemy to leave. Or just move the enemy outside the rooms...

Happens in the Outfit quite a bit if you're not careful.

If all the neutral bases are secured and you know where your opponent respawns then a lot of people just place loads of gun turrets all around so you are dead as soon as you respawn and there is nothing you can do about it

If you remember way back in TFC there was a few levels (possibly them all) where it was very difficult to get into the spawn points of the opposing team since it was behind locked doors and with a gun turret inside

Its a very common tactic in GRAW from what I hear.

I don't play against stangers on live, often. Usually because I find people I don't know use dirty tactics, and whine a lot when I don't play ball.

If I do play against strangers I go online with a group of people I know and, I am familiar with their game style.

If you have a fixed spawn point. Leave a player that is good at close range fighting near it to kill potential spawn campers. Also instead of running around like headless chickens work as a team to keep your half of the map reasonably clear of the enemy, whilst progressing accross the map to spawn kill yourself. In GRAW the Idea is to keep as few enemies on the map as possible. Its all about tactics.

I played GRAW online the other day for the first time and to start off with i found it very enjoyable but then ended up on a map where people were doing this and damn did it p*** me off!!!

My wife was watching me play and couldn't believe that people actually do this and wondered why people even bothered to play if that can't play properly.....well said IMO

I've not encountered a problem like that in a few years, but when it does happen it's VERY annoying. It's a good tactic in gaming competitions (i.e. Quake 3 - 1 on 1) but in a public sense it's stupidly annoying.
