Lo all,

I'm in a house at the moment where I have to connect to the internet wirelessly. We are using 1mb NTL cable and a linksys WRTG54GC cable router.
I find that when I connect to CS:S or DoD:S I get a really good ping, and for the most part I get smooth play. However, I have noticed especially with CS:S that I will stop for a few seconds and then jump forward to where I should be. In CS:S it acts like I have dropped and then re-picked up all of my weapons etc.
Has anyone else encountered this and is there any way I can fix it? It is really starting to ruin my enjoyment of the games.

Cheers

Yeah, I think that's a common problem with Wireless - it's just not designed for games that need a smooth, constant connection. I used Wireless for EQ2 and it wasn't too bad - but I experienced similar problems to you.....not such a big deal in a RPG most of the time tho. Also, our microwave oven and cordless phones caused havoc with connection.

You might wanna post in the networks forum - people may be able to offer some tips on how to improve things, but I think it's never going to be as good as a wired connection I'm afraid.
