I'm bored of WoW, haven't got the patience for EVE, played Planetside to death, thought SWG was rubbish and haven't got the system specs to run D&D how i desire...so can you recommend some other decent online games please!

Preferably ones with free downloadable trials so I don't have to fork out any cash in advance before I know if they're any good.

Really couldn't give a flying F about brainless games like BF2, HL, CS and all the fps stuff, want something to test the brain a little, something that'll keep me hooked for a while...and also, something that looks nice :D

Anything along the RPG style would be prefered, but open to most possibilities!

Thanks in advance for recommendations!

The emphasis is primarily pvp though yeah? Don't mind a degree of pvp, but not if the game is mostly composed of it!

Not really, there is a large PvE campaign to play through in cooperative mode. Great fun in a large guild.....and I know where to find one ;)

Neverwinter Nights has a suprising number of free persistent worlds that you can try your hand it.

The actually 'quality' of the worlds obviously varies a lot, but its all D&D 3rd rules and fairly pretty. Probably what your looking for.

Argh... if you weren't after graphics and wanted an intellectual challenge I'd recommend StarCraft online.

I'm afraid my knowledge of RPGs is fairly limited (they're not challenging enough) but guildwars PvP did hold my interest well for a while.

Guild wars is not primarily PvP though, PvP is just a side feature of the game.
